The Jack Cribb Series ended with a whimper today. A small high pressure ridge parked over English Bay and the result was sunshine, but no wind. With no ripples in sight at 1:30 pm, the Race Committee postponed all races for the day.
This leaves Lady Van as the winner of the Jack Cribb Memorial Trophy and the right to defend the Alexandra Cup against Ace, the American challenger.
Jean Black, Jack Cribbs daughter, was on hand again this year to present the Jack Cribb Memorial Trophy to Don Martin, skipper of Lady Van.
The Finals will begin on Friday, October 28. The weather forecast for Friday is for a deterioration into rain and southeasterly winds.
